Nora goaz (where do we go?, in Basque) Behind this direct question to you is Philippe Dulau aka Philibert, tour guide in the Basque Country. Born in Bayonne, I worked for a long time in international trade here in the Northern Basque Country (Iparralde), before deciding to share my knowledge and love for this country.
So where do we go? To discover the coastal Basque country with its seaside resorts and fishing ports, departure points for expeditions to the peaceful assault on the (new) world since the 15th century, or the inland Basque country with its green hills where sheep and pottoks (little basque horses) graze under the watchful eye of griffon vultures, with its valleys and picturesque villages.
Whatever you choose (it will always be a good one, because everything here is beautiful!), it will be an opportunity to share with you the rich history, architectural heritage, culture and traditions dating back thousands of years, surprising mythology and varied cuisine combining products from the land and sea of this country straddling the Pyrenees.
We'll be talking about topics such as: the Basque pelota, the Basque language (the origin of which is still a mystery today), apple wine, shipbuilding and river construction, products from the New World for which the Basque Country is still famous (chocolate, chilli peppers, etc.), pastoralism and cheeses, typical churches and the pilgrimage to Compostela, witches, smugglers, our AOC/AOP and IGP and much, much more!

So dear visitors from France and Navarre or elsewhere, Nora Goaz? Where do we go? I'm looking forward to sharing with you my love for this country.
